The Area of district bagh is 1368 sq. km. having projected population estimated in 1994 about 0.443 million. Topogragphically this district falls into mountainous zone.

Administratively, district bagh has three sub-divisions namely Bagh, Dheer kot and havaily. This district resembles to district poonch in all means due to its history, culture, customs and tradions. The area of this district is highland deeply cut by rushing hill torrents. District bagh, as a whole is rich in natural beauty.
